Blue Ox take the top spot in the Premier Midwest West!

Charting their 12th win of the season, the Minnesota Blue Ox surpass the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings in the first place spot for the Premier Midwest West.

Coming off of a 12-3 win the night before, the Minnesota Blue Ox had strong momentum heading into Sunday evenings game against the Hudson Havoc. In the opening period, Ox goalie Brady Boudreau set up the puck behind the net for Oskari Halme who snuck a shot past the Havoc for the 1-0 lead. Blue Ox forward Eric Worre took a pass from Kester and Schader to find the back of the net at 8:04 of the first period.

Capitalizing on the first power play goal of the night would be Daniel Nikiforov at 5:20 of the second period. Halme and Kause would record the assist on the lone goal of the second period.

Sitting at a score of 3-0 at the beginning of the third period, the Hudson Havoc narrowed the lead by one at the 5:04 marker. Midway through the third, Tyrese Murph pushed the puck past the Havoc’s netminder on assists from DuPuy and Ryan. Closing out the night with the second power play goal was Philip Schader assisted by Scherz and Kester.

The visiting Blue Ox had 49 shots on goal in the Sunday evening game. Goaltender, Brady Boudreau, closed out the night with one assist on the Blue Ox’s first goal and finished the night with a .917 save percentage.

With the third win of the weekend, the Minnesota Blue Ox are now 12-1-1 in the 2017-2018 season and sit in the top spot of the Premier Midwest West. The Blue Ox will return home on Friday, November 3rd as they face off against the Steele County Blades at 7 pm.
