Blue Ox hold on for 4-3 Overtime Win

The Blue Ox outscored the Wisconsin Muskies by a 2-1 margin in a shoot-out to secure the Blue Ox’s ninth win of the season.

In the opening period of play, the Minnesota Blue Ox took the early lead as Worre skipped a pass over to captain Philip Schader at 0:49. This power play goal would be the only goal of the first period.

The Muskies answered back, tying up the score, early on in the second period as Klatt and Shadick assisted Richard Szabo on his second goal of the season.

With the score all tied up with ones, the Blue Ox and the Muskies headed into the third period. The Blue Ox came out aggressive and determined and scored the first goal of the third. When a wrister from DePuy and Ryan lined up with Mitchell Weiland making the score 2-1. Then an unassisted goal from Oskari Halme at 8:33 made the score 3-1 in the Blue Ox’s favor. But the Muskies came back with 2 more goals from Shadick and Kane to tie up the score at the end of the third period.

Moving into overtime, the Blue Ox would shoot first. Oskari Halme would make the first goal for the Minnesota Blue Ox. The Muskies answered back with a shot made from Klatt. Moving into the fourth round of the shootout, the shots made were tied 1-1. Orlando Scherz was up next and he cleared one past the Muskies goalie. With a fantastic save on the final Muskies shot, Blue Ox goalie Josh Greune sealed the deal for the Blue Ox’s overtime win over the Wisconsin Muskies.

With this win over the Wisconsin Muskies, the Minnesota Blue Ox are now 9-1-1 on the season with their next game on Friday, October 27th at 7:30 pm on the road against the Steele County Blades.
