The Minnesota Blue Ox (23-5-3) continue road play this weekend with two games against the Ironwood Fighting Yoopers with Saturday’s game beginning at 5 pm and Sunday’s game beginning at 1 pm at the Pat O’Donnell Civic Center.

Ox Most Recently:

The Minnesota Blue Ox are coming off of a 2-1 loss to the New Jersey Rockets in their last game of the Boston Showcase. With 29 shots on goal and one power play goal, the Minnesota Blue Ox played a long hard fought 50 minute game against the Rockets. Josh Greune finished the game with a .946 save percentage and blocked 35 shots on goal.

Yoopers Most Recently:

The Ironwood Fighting Yoopers are 13-22 after falling in their last game to the Florida Junior Blades. After 31 penalty minutes and allowing 3 goals in the 1st period, the Yoopers were unable to make the comeback. Despite falling in their last game, the Yoopers’ Caleb Griffin still leads the Midwest West in points with 31 goals and 31 assists this season. The Yooper tendys have also made a statement with Huset blocking 544 shots on goal this season and holding a .895 save percentage.

Last Ox and Yoopers Match Up:

In their last match up, the Blue Ox defeated the Fighting Yoopers by a score of 6-3. With four goals in the first period alone, the Yoopers were not able to make a fighting comeback against the Ox. The Minnesota Blue Ox had 47 shots on goal and Ox goalie Josh Greune finished the night with a .889 save percentage.
