Oct. 19th Weekend Preview

The Minnesota Blue Ox (7-1-1) continue road play this weekend as they face off against the Minnesota Mullets on Friday, October 20th and against the Wisconsin Muskies on Saturday, October 21st. Face-off for the both games is slated for 7:30 pm CDT.

Blue Ox-Mullets History:

In a previous meeting, the Blue Ox marked their 4th win after they scored a 4-2 win over the Mullets. Despite the Mullets leading in shots on goal, they struggled to turn their 10 minutes of power play into any goals. The Ox reached above and beyond in their power play goals against the Mullets, as they scored on 2 of their 3 power plays.

Blue Ox Most Recently:

The Minnesota Blue Ox are fresh off a 4 game weekend in the Windy City. The Ox went 2-1-1 at the Chicago Showcase and are now 7-1-1 on the season. In the final game of the Showcase, Oskari Halme had a goal and an assist, Kristian Krause had a goal, and Eric Swenson tallied the assist for Halme’s goal. The Ox goalies, Greune and Boudreau, have both proven to be very at home in the net as both goalies have save percentages over .855.

Mullets Most Recently:

The Mullets are 5-5 on the season after picking up a big 11-1 win over the Tri-City Icehawks last weekend. Nate Holm leads the Mullets as the top point scorer with 6 goals and 6 assists so far this season. Both Mullet goalies have blocked over 250 combined shots and both have save percentages over .870.

Muskies Most Recently:

The Muskies of Wisconsin are 1-8 on the season after falling in their last game of the Chicago Showcase this past weekend. Despite the rough start to the season, the Muskies hope that their top point scorer, Kyle Klatt, can lead them to their second victory of the season. The Minnesota Blue Ox and the Wisconsin Muskies have yet to meet this season, but will meet for the first time on Saturday in Wisconsin.

Goalie Spotlights:

Josh Greune Notes: Greune currently has a 4-1 record, 2.59 goals against average and a .859 save percentage….Josh got his first win of the 2017-2018 season when he stopped 29 shots on goal from the Dells Ducks on September 16th. Having just completed his 5th game, the native from Raleigh, North Carolina, has blocked over 80 shots on goal this season.

Brady Boudreau: Boudreau currently has a 3-0-1 record, 2.61 goals against average and a .911 save percentage…Brady got his first win of the 2017-2018 season when he stopped 25 shots on goal from the Dells Ducks on September 15th . Having just completed his 4th game, the native of Woodbury, MN, has blocked over 100 shots on goal this season.

Led by captains Justin Carlson, Kristian Krause, Orlando Scherz, and Philip Schader, the Minnesota Blue Ox are looking for their 8th win of the season as they face off in their first game of the weekend against the Minnesota Mullets in Forest Lake at 7:30 pm.
