Minnesota Blue Ox Shut Out Blades in 13th win of the season

With an impressive display at home Friday night, Greune was credited with 23 saves in gaining his second shutout of the season and his seventh win of the season.

The Blue Ox took their first lead of the game well into the second period when Kester and Schader wristed a pass over to Tyler DePuy to tally his third goal of the season. Two minutes later, Tyrese Murph found the gap and fired one passed the Blades’ goaltender. Rounding out the second period, Captain Kristian Kause converted the first power play goal of the night with the help of Worre and Ciolek.

The Blades had two power play opportunities in the second period of play, but the score remained 3-0 on the Blue Ox’s favor.

The Blue Ox added their second power play goal of the night to close out the third period. On a pass from Scherz, Oskari Halme flipped one past the Blades’ goalie to finalize the 4-0 win.

Blue Ox goalie, Josh Greune tallied his seventh win and his second shutout of the season. Greune has an overall save percentage of .903 and has blocked 167 shots on goal this season.

With their seventh consecutive win, the Minnesota Blue Ox are 13-1-1 this season. The Blue Ox have the rest of the weekend off, but will play in a charity game against the Minnesota Moose at Isanti Arena on Monday, November 6th at 8 pm.
